Teignmouth AFC have supported a campaign scheme organised by the South West Peninsula Football League aiming to provide a safety net for injured players.
The Benevolent Fund provides help and support to players who are injured during the course of the season, giving grants to players who have to take enforced time off work.
Providing crucial support to those who are self employed, or have young families, the cause has had such positive impact on the lives of so many footballers potentially in times of struggle.
Representatives at the club have said it is: “A hugely worthwhile cause” to be improving the lives of many unpaid, injured footballers.
The South West Peninsula Football League is in partnership with the benevolent fund scheme to involve all of the clubs across the leagues to raise money for the cause.
This includes a section of the matchday tickets and other fundraising initiatives that go towards the cause.
