The fan owned football club is one of only a handful to operate in this way. It is a one member, one vote system, running as a non-profit organisation.
They currently play in the North West Counties League Premier Division and came 14th last season.
‘The Little Reds’ play at, Rossett Park in Crosby that has a capacity of 2,150, which they share with Marine FC.
The Chairman of the club, Chris Stirrup has put his faith in Phil Stafford to develop the club and to climb the English football pyramid.
The plans were announced in February 2008 after fans of ‘The Reds’ felt they had been priced out of the Premier League.
Alun Parry who established the club after frustration around the American ownership by George Gillett and Tom Hicks, adopted the same colour kit to match their inspiration.
In less than three months of the club founding, they had attracted around 1,000 members.
The club played their first match against St Helens Town in front of a crowd of 600. The game ended 1-1 however their first win would come in their league debut, beating Darwen 5-0.
Their first season saw them miss out on promotion by four points, whilst winning the Division One Trophy beating Padiham in the final.
Since forming the club have won the Division One Challenge Trophy twice, back to back after their opening season. They also won the Fans Club Trophy three times on the trot between 2008 and 2011.
Having only managed to get as far as the first qualifying round in the FA Cup, they reached the third round of the FA Cup Vase in 2010/11.
The club’s record attendance came against Wigan Robin Park in 2008 with 604 fans coming along to watch.
In 2014 the club got their biggest win in a 9-0 domination against St Helens Town, a game that will long live in the memory of the club.
